In 1873, Susan B. Anthony was arrested for voting. She had walked into a polling place in Rochester, New York and cast a ballot — an act that was illegal for a woman at the time. At her trial, she was fined $100. She never paid it.
When asked to justify what she had done, she ended her powerful court statement with the simple phrase: resistance to tyranny is obedience to God.
She wasn't just fighting for the right to vote. She was making a statement about where authority comes from — and where it ends. That when a government denies basic rights to its people, the moral obligation is to resist.
Peacefully. Defiantly. Without apology.
That was 1873. The words haven't aged a day.
Wear it as a reminder that standing up has always been the most American thing you can do.
